Child Rights, Protection and Preserving the Future

Welcome to a realm where every child’s protection and well-being is a top priority. Our dedicated sector focuses on comprehensive interventions for child protection, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment. From awareness campaigns to community empowerment initiatives and advocacy campaigns, we are there in safeguarding and protecting the innocence of the future generation. Protecting Children is not an isolated task and everyone in the society holds the responsibility for it. As an organization, we wish to create a world where every child feels protected, valued, and empowered to flourish.

Good Neighbors Sri Lanka (GNSL) has advanced child rights and protection in Karuwalagaswewa and Kebithigollewa, fostering awareness and advocacy among children, teachers, parents, and state representatives. Through child clubs and partnerships with child rights officers, GNSL has empowered children to understand their rights and engage in safe, supportive environments. Training sessions were conducted for teachers, parents, and key duty bearers, while school-based child protection committees were established to reinforce safe practices and child participation. GNSL’s initiatives have helped to build a community-wide commitment to upholding and protecting child rights

Participating in the child protection training program opened my eyes to the importance of safeguarding children’s rights. I learned how to identify issues affecting children in our community and report them effectively. As the Child Leader of our School Child Protection Committee, I’m proud that we’ve taken meaningful steps to protect our peers. This experience has empowered us to make a difference in our school and beyond.”
