Community Development Projects
Good Neighbors establishes Community Development Projects (CDPs) in strategic locations to effectively deliver programs and services to communities that are geographically isolated, economically disadvantaged, or impacted by calamities, disasters, or conflict.
Karuwalagaswewa Community Development Project (CDP)

Nestled in Sri Lanka’s Puttalam District, Karuwalagaswewa is a resilient community facing significant challenges. Known for its harsh droughts, Karuwalagaswewa struggles with poverty, frequent natural disasters, and limited access to essentials like clean water, healthcare, and quality education. Families here often rely on seasonal work and small-scale farming, which are increasingly threatened by climate change and insufficient irrigation. The Karuwalagaswewa CDP, initiated by Good Neighbors Sri Lanka, is committed to uplifting this community by enhancing education, improving health services, and building resilience against climate impacts. Through sustainable development, we aim to create opportunities for the future generation of Karuwalagaswewa.
Kebithigollewa Community Development Project (CDP)

In the heart of the Anuradhapura District, Kebithigollewa grapples with issues of poverty, malnutrition, and restricted educational opportunities. Since its inception in 2021, the Kebithigollewa CDP has been a beacon of hope, addressing critical needs like clean drinking water, proper nutrition for children and mothers, and climate-smart agricultural practices. By building robust partnerships with local Village Development Societies and other stakeholders, Good Neighbors Sri Lanka is empowering Kebithigollewa’s residents to create lasting change. Together, we are building a foundation for sustainable growth, resilience, and a brighter future for this vibrant community.
